At a glance
MYIS started in 1990 as Magic Years International School, a preschool serving four children in Sukhumvit Soi 42. It has since moved twice, most recently to its current purpose-built campus in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, adjacent to the Nichada Thani expat community and a short distance from ISB. That proximity is not accidental: many MYIS families are in the Nichada Thani corridor, and the school has built a reputation as a strong IB early years and primary choice for families in that part of the city.
Around 250 to 300 students from age 1 to Grade 10, on a 1.5-acre campus with a saltwater pool, gymnasium, outdoor farm with goats, chickens, and fish, a STEM and Design Technology lab, and visual arts and music rooms. The IB PYP is the foundation, with MYP candidacy now authorised and the pathway expanding toward Grade 12 by 2028.
The outdoor farm is genuinely embedded into the curriculum, not decorative: children engage with it daily as part of a science and ecology programme. Fees run from roughly 249,600 to 645,400 THB annually, making this one of the more accessible IB PYP and MYP options in Bangkok.
The campus is in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, off the BTS and MRT network. Families drive or use the school bus. For families already living in the Nichada Thani, Chaeng Wattana, or northern Bangkok corridor, MYIS offers a warm, inquiry-driven IB pathway that sits well below the fee levels of ISB next door.

Key Facts
Magic Years International School (MYIS): What You Should Know About It
MYIS International School, originally known as Magic Years International School, is a private IB World School in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, on the northern edge of metropolitan Bangkok. Khanum Thampi opened the school in February 1990 with four children in her Sukhumvit home, most of them children of teachers from International School Bangkok.
Over three decades the school grew through campuses in Chaengwattana and Muang Thong Thani before moving in 2017 to a purpose-built campus on Soi Samakee, next door to the Nichada Thani expatriate community.
It now serves roughly 250 students from more than 20 nationalities, with Thai families making up about two-thirds of enrolment and the remainder drawn from across the international community living north of the capital.
The campus was the first stand-alone IB Kindergarten authorised in Thailand in 2012 and, in 2025, the first IB Middle Years Programme school authorised in Nonthaburi province.
MYIS delivers the IB Primary Years Programme from age one through Grade 5 and the IB Middle Years Programme through Grade 10, layered with American AERO and Next Generation Science Standards content.
The school is on a multi-year expansion path through Grade 12 and intends to add the IB Diploma Programme around 2027 to 2028. Learning is inquiry-driven, transdisciplinary, and rooted in play for the Early Years classes named Trust and Caring, Joy and Confidence, Peace and Unity, Creativity and Service, and Excellence. Children move between bright indoor rooms, two playgrounds, two libraries, two gymnasiums, a saltwater swimming pool, a football field, a STEM and design lab, an art studio, a music and movement room, and an on-site farm where they care for goats, chickens, fish, and turtles. Class sizes are kept small: a maximum of twelve per day in the youngest class, eighteen in the oldest Early Years group, and twenty from Grade 1 onward, with two teachers in every room and a roughly one to five teacher-student ratio.
Specialist instruction runs in Thai, Mandarin, Spanish, swimming, music, design technology, art, and physical education. Pastoral care, EAL support, and learning intervention are coordinated case by case, often in partnership with outside specialists. The school is a member of CIS and ISAT, is ONESQA accredited, and is licensed by Thailand's Ministry of Education. Families pay across two terms, with sibling and loyalty discounts available to those committing through the end of Middle Years.
