Both tracks use a mixed-age learning approach designed to foster collaboration, leadership and community.

Activities and programme content

Early Years Program (ages 1 to 7)

Children are grouped into three developmental phases:

  • Phase 1 (1 to 3 years) - a sensory-rich environment supporting exploration and independence through water and sand play, early art, movement, music and outdoor discovery.
  • Phase 2 (3 to 5 years) - inquiry-based learning with rotating classroom centres, meeting times, small-group provocations, outdoor play and expressive arts.
  • Phase 3 (5 to 7 years) - inquiry projects, skill-building games, expressive arts, outdoor challenges and early literacy and numeracy experiences.

A sample Early Years daily schedule includes playground time, snack, rotating specialist sessions (gym, music, art, water play), integrated homeroom, lunch and a reflection meeting.

Primary Years Program (Grades 2 to 5, approximately ages 7 to 11)

Students participate in a rotating schedule of discovery experiences including:

  • Performing and visual arts - painting, drawing, clay, design, mixed media, storytelling, expressive reading, speaking and stage performance.
  • Cooking with mathematics - hands-on cooking activities exploring recipes, flavours and the science behind food, integrating measurement, fractions and planning skills.

  • STEM Discovery - integrated into the daily timetable.
  • Athletics clubs - basketball, football, badminton, swimming and gymnastics, led by experienced coaches and focusing on coordination, teamwork, confidence and enjoyment of physical activity.

Maths and Drama Camp is a device-free programme led by Mr Jamie. Mornings focus on hands-on maths in nature, including measuring, estimating, data analysis, pattern exploration and team-based challenges along a nature trail. Afternoons shift to drama and creative expression: improvisation, storytelling, character work and collaborative group performances.

English (EAL) Camp is split by age group across three available weeks. Week 1 offers Story Safari with Ms Jess (ages 4 to 7) and English and the World Around Us with Mr Alastair (ages 8 to 11). For non-Thai students, Kru Tare leads Thai Club for Beginners (ages 7 to 11), learning Thai through play, songs and games.

Week 7 is Young Architects and Dream Spaces, featuring European architecture drawing, creative building concepts, dreamscape homes and the Ocean Imagination Lab. Students take home their creations.

Minecraft and Robotics Camp is run by Me-iZone and combines Minecraft Education with WeDo Robotics. Students build robots and solve coding challenges while developing logic, problem-solving and digital literacy.

Overview

Future Steps International School Bangkok (FSB) hosts its World Explorers Camp across six weeks of the summer holidays, welcoming children aged 2 to 11. The camp motto, "bringing cultures, creativity and curiosity together", plays out through a globe-trotting programme in which each week is dedicated to a different continent. Three age-differentiated streams run in parallel on the same campus on Sukhumvit Soi 31 and 39: Young World Explorers (ages 2 to 4), and two World Explorers groups (ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 11). The camp is open to both FSB students and external families, and the language of instruction is English, though children of all English ability levels are welcome. FSB positions the camp as good preparation for the start of the new school year in August.
