At this campus

La Petite Ecole Bangkok is a French-English bilingual preschool founded in 2017, AEFE-accredited since 2018, and part of the Odyssey Education group. It serves children from age 2 to 6 (TPS through GS), following the French national curriculum taught on alternating days in French and English by native-speaking teachers.

Over 25 nationalities, with a community that is genuinely international rather than exclusively French-speaking, making it accessible for bilingual families beyond the Franco-Thai circle. What distinguishes LPE from other French preschools in Bangkok is the setting: an elegant villa in Sathorn with a garden, pool, sensory pathway, musical garden, and outdoor kitchen. It is a small school by design, and that scale is part of the offer.

As with all AEFE-partner schools, graduates have a clear onward pathway within the French education network, whether to Sequoia Nova, Acacia, or LFIB. The campus is on Yenakat Soi 2 in Sathorn, a short walk from Chong Nonsi BTS. For families in Sathorn, Silom, or the Riverside corridor looking for a French-bilingual early years in a genuinely beautiful setting, La Petite Ecole is the quieter, smaller alternative to the larger French preschools in the area.

What You Should Actually Know About La Petite École Bangkok

Founded in 2017 in central Sathorn, this bilingual French-English kindergarten teaches the French Ministry of Education curriculum exclusively to Cycle 1 children, ages two through six. The school is part of Odyssey Education, the network chaired by former French education minister Luc Chatel, and earned French Ministry homologation in 2018 along with AEFE partner status.

About 80 pupils representing more than 25 nationalities attend a single villa-style site near Yen Akat, where every classroom is co-taught by one French-native and one English-native teacher with equal time devoted to each language. The pedagogy blends the French maternelle program with experiential, play-based methods, differentiated instruction, and choice-driven free play. Children also take Thai language classes with a dedicated teacher.

The campus leans outdoors: a garden, vegetable patch, and carpentry workshop sit alongside the classrooms, and staff deliberately limit paper materials in favor of recycled and natural ones. Lunch is cooked daily by French restaurant Cagette and served on the terrace, with adjustments available for allergies and pork-free or gluten-free diets. Optional after-school activities run Monday to Thursday from 3 to 4 pm and include swimming, soccer with Bangkok ENSI Sport, mini-chess with Happy Pawn, Lego Land, science club, and Thai language sessions. Door-to-door school transport is contracted to Blue Jade in nine-seat shuttles.

Best for francophone or bilingual-leaning families with children aged two to six who want a small French curriculum setting with a true English co-teacher and a clear pathway toward Lycée Français International de Bangkok afterward. Families should plan the transition early, since the school stops at Grande Section, age six, and offers no élémentaire or collège grades on site. Petite, Moyenne and Grande Section are full-time only at five days a week, with no half-day or three-day variants; only Toute Petite Section has a mornings-only option. Tuition does not cover the mandatory canteen, uniform, transport, holiday camps, or after-school activities, which are all billed separately. Class-size and student-teacher ratio numbers are not publicly disclosed, and fees for the 2026-2027 academic year had not been posted at the time of writing.
