What You Should Actually Know About Bangkok Patana School
Bangkok Patana School is Thailand's original and largest British international school, founded in 1957 as a non-profit Foundation to provide a British-style education for the children of English-speaking expatriates and others living in Bangkok. Located on a superbly resourced 17-hectare campus in the Bang Na district of Bangkok, the school educates over 2,300 students from approximately 65 nationalities, from Nursery (age 2) through to Year 13 (age 18). The school follows the English National Curriculum through to Year 11, when students sit (I)GCSE examinations, and then offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or IB Career-Related Programme (IBCP) in Years 12 and 13. The curriculum is delivered entirely in English, with a wide range of modern languages taught as subjects. Bangkok Patana has a proud tradition of academic, sporting, and artistic excellence, with consistent IB Diploma average scores around 35-36 and (I)GCSE pass rates well above global benchmarks. The school is non-selective and non-profit, reinvesting all resources into teaching quality, learning environments, and long-term development. It is accredited by CIS, NEASC, and is an IB World School. The campus includes a 600-seat theatre, three swimming pools, an indoor sports centre, purpose-built Science Centre and Arts Centre, tennis courts, extensive sports fields, and a rich extra-curricular programme of over 500 activities per week. About 80 percent of teaching staff are recruited directly from the UK or from British international schools.
