American School of Bangkok (ASB) Green Valley

The American School of Bangkok Green Valley Campus (ASBGV) is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 day and boarding school situated on a 22-acre campus within the gated Green Valley Country Club in Samut Prakan, roughly 15 kilometers from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Founded as a campus in 1997, the school follows the American curriculum accredited by NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges), and is licensed by the Thai Ministry of Education. In high school, students can pursue AP courses including the AP Capstone Diploma. The school draws students from over 30 nationalities, and its two-semester structure mirrors the US academic calendar, running from August through late May. Class sizes are capped at 20 students, giving the school a more intimate scale than the large Sukhumvit flagships, while still maintaining a full secondary program with college counseling through the BridgeU platform and a dedicated SAT and iBT TOEFL preparation track for university applicants.

Day-to-day, teaching at ASBGV is heavily influenced by American pedagogical methods, including MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing used to track and calibrate learning across grade levels. The majority of teachers come from the United States, followed by Canada and the UK. The campus offers two swimming pools, three gymnasiums, a weight room, dance studio, music studios, computer and robotics labs, a climbing wall, separate boys and girls dormitories, and both indoor and outdoor golf training facilities.

The school operates the International Preparatory Golf Academy (IPGA), the only program in Asia that integrates professional golf training, full-time academics, dormitory facilities, and college placement services within a single school. Boarding is available from Grade 6 onward, with capacity for up to 100 residential students, supported by 24-hour dorm parents and an on-site nurse.

ELL (English Language Learner) and Learning Support programs are available at additional cost from Grades 1 through 12, with pull-out and push-in support depending on student need. The school sits in Bangplee, Samut Prakan, and while the campus environment is spacious and green, families living in central Bangkok face a real commute of 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. There is no BTS or MRT station nearby, meaning most students rely on the school bus service or private transport. The campus works best for families already located in the Bangna-Trad corridor, eastern Sukhumvit, or those for whom boarding is part of the plan. The dominant student nationalities include Thai, Korean, Chinese, and a spread of other Asian and Western nationalities. The school is best suited to families seeking a structured American curriculum in a spacious, nature-adjacent setting, those interested in golf at a serious level through the IPGA, or students who need boarding facilities close to Bangkok.
