RIS Early Years is the newest addition to the Ruamrudee International School network, opened in August 2020 on Phraya Suren Road in the Raminitra-Kanchanapisek area of eastern Bangkok.

It was purpose-built to serve the youngest RIS students, ages 2 to 6, with dedicated early childhood facilities designed from the ground up rather than adapted from a larger campus.

The approach follows the RIS philosophy that carries through the whole network: the 'Union of Hearts' ethos, balancing academic foundations with character development, curiosity, and care. The natural onward pathway is the main RIS Minburi campus, a short drive away, where children continue from Pre-K through Grade 12 within the same school community.

For families already committed to the RIS pathway, starting at the Early Years campus means entering a familiar culture and value system from the very beginning. The campus is in the Klong Samwa district of eastern Bangkok, off the BTS and MRT network. Families drive or use the school transport. For families living in the eastern Bangkok corridor near Minburi, Raminitra, or Klong Samwa, this is the most natural early years entry point into the RIS community.

Ruamrudee International School Early Years operates as an intentional, standalone entry point into the broader RIS network, translating a rigorous American curriculum into a highly tactile, early-childhood framework. Rather than integrating toddlers into a massive all-through institution, the administration has isolated the foundation years on a dedicated, six-rai campus.

The academic approach is heavily Reggio Emilia-inspired, layering the developmental milestones of the Creative Curriculum with student-led, experiential discovery. This positioning allows the school to function with the intimate, high-touch scale of a boutique nursery while retaining the financial backing, staff recruitment power, and operational stability of a major educational group.

The program stops at Kindergarten, functioning exclusively as a feeder that secures automatic Grade 1 matriculation at the main Minburi campus, entirely removing the pressure of primary school admissions. The daily student experience heavily prioritises movement and sensory engagement over rigid classroom instruction.

Architectural choices blur the lines between indoor and outdoor learning, enabling children to navigate fluidly between art studios, wet exploration areas, and physical climbing frames. One concrete differentiator is the campus's seed-to-table program, anchored by an on-site greenhouse and pesticide-free planting beds. This initiative integrates hands-on culinary observation directly into the routine, a rarity among Bangkok's early years centres. Teaching staff operate primarily as facilitators of inquiry, observing student interests to dynamically adapt activities rather than enforcing uniform instruction.

The student body reflects a balanced mix of local Thai families and expatriates, supported by a structured English-language immersion model with integrated learning support for children requiring tailored developmental intervention. Choosing this campus requires families to navigate the logistical realities of its location in the eastern Khlong Sam Wa district. While the immediate neighbourhood provides a quiet, residential backdrop, the daily commute from central Bangkok or western suburbs is demanding during peak traffic hours.

Additionally, families must be prepared for the mandatory campus transition once their child reaches primary age. The fee structure reflects the high staff-to-student ratios and premium, custom-built facilities, placing it in the upper-mid tier for early years education. Ultimately, this campus is best for families living in the Ramintra or Minburi corridors who prioritise the institutional stability of an established American-curriculum pathway, delivered within a secure environment designed exclusively for early childhood.
