Raintree Sukhumvit opened in August 2024 after the same founding team behind the Sathorn campus acquired and redeveloped. The Apple Tree International Kindergarten on Soi Athakravi 1, Sukhumvit 26. It is a preschool only, serving children from 18 months to around 6 years, following the British EYFS framework interpreted through a Reggio Emilia lens: child-led, play-based, observation-driven, with learning spaces designed around two inner courtyards of mature trees that bring outdoor learning into the heart of the campus.
Nursery classes run 12 to 15 children. Mandarin is co-taught alongside English from the start, and Thai language and cultural studies are included from Kindergarten. The founding team, Phannaroj Chalitaporn, Vorachan Chirathivat, and Korn Chatikavanij, retains ownership and leadership across both Raintree campuses, which gives the school a consistency of philosophy and care that is harder to find in acquired or network-operated schools.
The campus is on Soi Athakravi 1, Sukhumvit 26 in Klong Toei, within easy reach of Phrom Phong BTS. As with all preschools, plan the primary transition before enrolling.

For Parents
Raintree Sukhumvit functions strictly as an early childhood centre, bypassing the scale and institutional feel of Bangkok's major international schools. Acquired and rebranded in 2024, the campus limits its intake to roughly 150 students from Nursery through Year 1.
The academic positioning is decidedly progressive. While the school uses the British Early Years Foundation Stage to track developmental milestones, daily instruction relies on the Reggio Emilia approach. This means learning emerges from student interest rather than top-down lesson plans.
A question about shadows or insects can evolve into a multi-week project involving numeracy, art, and language acquisition. The setting rejects formal desks and forward-facing instruction, opting instead for continuous indoor-outdoor flow, natural materials, and deliberate integration of the physical environment as a core teaching tool.
The daily routine emphasizes sensory engagement and trilingual exposure. Class sizes max out at 15 students, managed by a lead teacher and multiple assistants, allowing educators to operate as co-learners who observe and document rather than merely direct. The language programme stands out for its structural integration. Instead of pulling children out for specific lessons, native speakers model English, Mandarin, and Thai concurrently during play and circle time.
A dedicated visual arts atelier, managed by an atelierista, provides a permanent space for complex material exploration using clay, light tables, and loose parts. The campus itself reflects this pedagogy, featuring an organic farm, sand and water play zones, and naturally ventilated learning courtyards that stand in sharp contrast to the dense, high-traffic reality of the surrounding Khlong Toei district.
The primary consideration for families evaluating the school is its age limit. Enrolling a child here requires accepting a guaranteed move to a formal primary school for Year 2, meaning parents must navigate Bangkok's competitive K-12 admissions landscape a few years down the line. The Sukhumvit Soi 26 location appeals heavily to expatriates living near Phrom Phong, though the deep alley can complicate the morning commute. The school sits at the upper end of the fee spectrum, justified by its high staff ratios and specialised architecture. Raintree Sukhumvit works best for families seeking an intimate, heavily resourced, and highly creative early years experience, provided they are comfortable delaying structured academics until the primary stages.
