D-PREP is one of the more distinctive schools in the Bang Na cluster, not because of scale, but because of how it thinks about learning. Founded in 2018, it runs the American curriculum from Nursery through Grade 12 across two campuses: the Main Campus on Bangna-Trat Road at Km 8 for Early Years and Primary, and a separate Secondary Campus for Grades 6 to 12.
The teaching approach shifts deliberately by age: Reggio Emilia in early years, IB PYP through primary, Expeditionary Learning at middle school, and AP at high school. It is one of the few schools in Bangkok that has built a coherent pedagogical thread from age 2 to 18, rather than simply applying a single framework across everything.
The community is a mix of Thai, international, and regionally mobile families who want something more progressive than a conventional curriculum school. Class sizes are small, and the school is still building toward full capacity. The main campus sits next to Mega Bangna, with no BTS or MRT nearby, but accessible by car from Bang Na and the Expressway, with a school bus service covering wider Bangkok. Fees sit mid-range by Bangkok standards. If progressive pedagogy and a US university pathway matter more to your family than brand recognition or campus scale, D-PREP is worth a visit.

What You Should Actually Know About D-PREP International School
Set on the eastern fringe of Bangkok in Bang Phli, this American-curriculum school runs Nursery through Grade 12 and culminates in the AP Capstone Diploma rather than the IB Diploma. Founded in 2018 by fourth-generation educator Lady Patchararak Didyasarin Tavedikul, it sits within the wider XCL Education group but operates with a distinct identity built around a "Dream, Discover, Deliver" framework and an explicit Life Skills curriculum. Pedagogy blends the IB Primary Years Programme with Reggio Emilia inspiration in early years, then shifts into Expeditionary Learning in middle school. The result reads more like a small experiential academy than a large American flagship, suiting families who want US college pathways via AP paired with project work and deliberately small cohorts.
Days centre on inquiry units, fieldwork and what the school calls "Outbound" overnight expeditions, with Mandarin and Thai woven through the timetable alongside English. Class sizes are kept intentionally low and teachers are drawn from a multilingual international staff covering English, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Burmese. Primary children spend extended time outdoors with mud kitchens, water play and a Reggio-style Exploration Room; the newer secondary "Deliver" campus adds three science labs, a design technology room, swimming pool and rooftop garden.
English language learners receive structured, WIDA-tiered support across primary and secondary, billed per semester. The Bangna location off Km. 8 of Bangna-Trad Road, near Mega Bangna, makes the school predominantly a commuter destination drawing families from southeast Bangkok and Samut Prakan rather than a true neighbourhood option. The trade-offs are real. Choosing AP over IB Diploma simplifies senior years and broadens course choice but lacks the universal brand recognition some Asian and European universities still favour. The Bangna setting involves long commutes for families based in central Bangkok, and relatively young Grade 12 cohorts mean published university results data is limited. ELL fees stack on top of tuition and can add meaningfully to the bill, and the secondary campus has seen leadership turnover. Best for families seeking an American pathway with strong experiential and life-skills emphasis, comfortable in Bangna or Samut Prakan, and prioritising small classes, multilingual exposure and outdoor learning over a traditional IB Diploma route.
